IT is notified, for general information, that, at a date to bo particularised in a future notice, probably in the month of November, 1865, the Provincial Govcrnmont of tho Province of Hawko's Bay will offer for sale, and lease the valuable lands, a description of which is hereafter given. Tho districts in which these lands are situate havo only recently been acquired from the native proprietors, and no land has boen sold in them. 1. — Tho township of consisting of about 000 town sections. This township will bo sold by public auction, and offers unusual advantages for settlement. It is situated on tho Wairoa, a river navigablo for many miles from its mouth, with a vast country containing largo blocks of rich agricultural land, and also an extensive pastoral district. The Pro. vincial Government have about two hundred thousand acres in this district to open up for settlement, the whole of this country is at present unoccupied, and will bo offered for public competition. 2. — Suburban land adjoining the township of This block will be laid out in lots of from ten to sixty acres, and is nearly all rich agricultural land, a great deal of it abutting on the Wairoa River. It will be disposed of by public auction. 3. — Agricultural land,adjoining tho suburban land at tho Wairoa, and Mahia, and in different parts of tho Wairoa and adjacent districts. Thero is a largo oxtont of really fine agricultural land to be brought into the market from time to time, as demand for it occurs. This land will bo surveyed, and laid out in sections, suitable for tho occupa'ion of agricultural settlers, and will bo sold to the first applicant at one pound per acre. Land for commonago will be reserved, adjacent to each block of ooricultural land, for 14 years, equal in extent to tho quantity of land sold or oftered for sale. 4.— Pastoral land, about (120,000) one hundred and twenty thousand acres of land, suitablo for sheep runs, situate in Wairoa, and adjacent districts, will bo divided into blocks not exceeding, in any case, ten thousand acres, and bo leased, by public auction, for fourteen years to tho highest bidder. Tho sanction of tho Legislature has to bo obtained before theso runs can bo disposed of. 5. — Township of tho Mahia. ',T)>is township •will bo sold byip'ubhc auction. 6. — Suburban land, at the' Mahia, adjacent to tho township, and of good quality, will bo sold in lots of from ten to sixty acres, by public auction. 7. — About six thousand acres of tho Ahuriri Plains, well known to bo the richest agricultural land in tho colony, and immediately adjoining tho Township of Napier. Theso blocks aro held in lease from tho natives for periods of twonty-ono and twenty-two years, and will bo leased, by public auction, in lots, suitable for the settlement of an agricultural population for liko periods. A future notice will be issued, giving tho day on which theso valuable lands will be thrown open to the public, and particulars as to upsofc price, sizo of lots, &c., will bo published. Settlers desiring to make permanent homes aro invited to inspect tho districts about to be opened for settlement ; they will find the land of excellent quality, and the climate tho finest in New Zealand.
