IT is notified, for general information, that, at a date to be particularised in a futuro notice, probably in the month of November, 1865, tho Provincial Government of the Province of Hawko's Bay will offer for sale, and lease the valuable lands, a description of which is hereafter given. The distriots in which these lands are situate have only recently been acquired from the native proprietors, and no land has been sold in them. 1. — The township of consisting of about 600 town sections. This township will be sold by publio auction, and offers unusual advantages for settlement. • : It is situated on the Wairoa, a river navigable for many miles from its mouth, with a vast country containing large blocks of rich agricultural land, and also an extensive pastoral district. The Provincial Government have about two hundred thousand acres in this district to open up forsettlement, the whole of this country is at present unoccupied, and will be offered for public competition. 2. — Suburban land adjoining the township of This block will be laid out in lots of from ten to sixty acres, and is nearly all . rich agricultural land, a great deal of it abutting on the Wairoa River. It will be disposed of by publio auction. 3. — Agricultural land, adjoining the suburban land at tho Wairoa, and Mahia, and in different parts of the Wairoa and adjacent districts. There is a large extent of really fine agricultural land to be brought into the market from time to time, as demand for it occurs. This lar.d will be surveyed, and laid out in sections, suitable for the occupation of agricultural settlers, and will be sold to the first applicant at one pound per acre. Land for commonage will bo reserved, adjacent to each block of o^cultural land, for 14 years, equal in extent to the quantity of land sold or offered for sale. 4. — Pastoral land, about (120,000) one hundred and twenty thousand nores of land, suitable for sheep runs, Bitnate in Wairoa, and adjacent districts, will be divided into blocks not exceeding, in any case, ten thousand acres, and be leased, by publio auction, for fourteen years to the highest bidder. The sanction of the Legislature has to be obtained before these runs can be disposed of. 6. — Township of the Mahia. This township will consist of about 200 town sections. It is situate at the the shipping place of the Mahia Peninsula and adjacent districts. Tho land is good in the vicinity, and the Crown has a large acreage there for disposal. This township will be sold by publio auction. 6. — Suburban land, at the Mahia, adjacent to tho township, and of good quality, will be sold in lots of from ten to sixty aores, by public auotion. 7. — About six thousand acres of the Ahuriri Plains, well known to be tho richest agricultural land in the colony, aud immediately adjoining the Township of Napier. * These blocks are held in lease from tho natives for periods of twenty-one and twenty-two years, and will be leased, by publio auction, in lots, suitable for the settlement of an agricultural population for like periods A future notice will be issued, giving the day on which these valuable lands will be thrown open to the public, and particulars as to upset price, size of lots, &ci,.will be published. Settlers desiring to make permanent homes are invited to inspect the distriots about to be opened for settlement ; they will find the land of excellent quality, and tfie oliinate the finest in New Zealand.
