RESIDENT MAGISTATE'S COURT.
(Before G. S. Sale, Esq., R.M.) Wednesday, 9xn August, 1865. Walter Dwyor, charged with wilful and continued disobedience of orders on board the steamship New Zealand, was remanded to the 11th instant, for the production of further evidence. Bail was accepted, himself in. L2O, and two sureties 1/20 raolv Wrecking. — David Smith, charged with having stolen a number of pairs of drawers from tho New Zealand, pleaded not guilty, and was remanded to yesterday. The court refused to accept bail in this case. Same.' — John Brozil and James Alexander, the one for having stolen two pickhandles, and the other two axe-handles, from the wreck of the New Zealand, were severally sentenced to a week's imprisonment, with hard labor. Stealing from a dwelling. — Richard Cook, charged with having stolen a jug from tho house of Mvs. Adams, in Revellstreet, was adjourned to the 11th for the production of further evidence. oiv r r, oases. (Before W. H. Revell, Esq., and C. C Schaw, Esq., J.P.) Kcnrick v. Davis. — Claim for LI 6s 6d on an 1.0. U. Judgment for plaintiff, by default, in tho above sum, and costs. Johnson v. Garnett. — Claim for L2O. In this case it was proved from the evidence that the summons had been improperly served. The court ordered the issue of a fresh summons for the 23rd inst. [No Court was held on Thursday ; Friday's report is crowded out.]
