TT is notified, for general information, that, 'X at a date to be particularised in a futuro notice, probably in the month of November, 1865, the Provincial Government of tho Province of Hawko's Bay will offer for sale, and loaso tho valuable lands, a description of which is hereafter given. Tho districts in which these lands aro x situate havo only recently beon acquired from tho native proprietors, and no land has beon sold in them. I.— The township of consisting of about 600 town scotions. This township will bo sold by publio auotion, and offers unusual advantages for settlement. It is situated on the Wairoa, a river navigable for many miles from its mouth, with a vast country containing large blocks of rich agricultural land, and also an extensive pastoral district. Tho Provincial Government havo about two hundred thousand acres in this district to open up for settlement, tho whole of this country is at present unoccupied, and will bo offered for public competition. 2. — Suburban land adjoining the township of This block will be laid out in lots of from ten to sixty acres, and is nearly all rich agricultural land, a great deal of it abutting on the Wairoa River. It will bo disposed -of_b^_ public auction. 3. — Agricultural land, adjoining the suburban land at the Wairoa, ai>;J Mahia, and in • different parts of the Wairoa and adjacont districts. There is a large extent of really fino agricultural land to be brought into tho market from time to timo, as demand for it ooours. ,This laud will bo survoyed, and laid out in sections, suitable for tho occupation of agrioultural settlers, and will bo sold to the first applicant at one pound per acre. Land for commonage will bo reserved, adjacent to each block of ngfWimlhirnl.lnjid, for 14 years, equal in extent to tho quantity of land sbfd or ottered for salo. 4.— Pastoral land, about (120,000) one hundred and twenty thousand acres of land, suitablo for sheep runs, situate in Wairoa, and adjacent districts, will bo divided into blocks not exceeding, in any case, ten thousand acres, and bo leased, by public auotion, for fourteen years to the highest bidder. Tho sanction of tho Legislature has to bo pbtained before these runs can be disposed of. 5. — Township of the Mahia. This township will consist of about 200 town sections. This township will be Bold by public auotion. 6.— Suburban land, at tho Mahia, adjacent to tho township, and of good quality, will bo sold in lots of from ten to sixty acres by public auction. ' V. — About six thousand acres of tho Ahuriri Plains, woll known to bo tho richest agricultural land in tho colony, and inimediatoly adjoining the Township of Napior. These blocks are held in lease from tho natives for periods of twenty-one and twenty-two years, and will be leased, by publio auction, in Jots, suitable for tho sottloment of an agricultural population for like periods. A futuro no.tico will be issuod, giving the day on which these valuable lands will be thrown open to tho public, and particulars as to upset prico, size of lota, &c., will bo published. When the bar is only fit for steamers to take, a rod flag will bi hoisted on the north flagstaff. Whon for sailing vessels, a red flag and ball. Masters of vessels aro particularly requested to attend to the small tidal flag on the spit, as the small tidal flag and the large flag in one takes them over tho bar. By order, J.
