Reed. 8 p.m. London, March 6 General Sir Miles Dempsey, Com-mander-in-Chief, Middle East, arrived in Jerusalem by air last night tram Cyprus, for urgent talks with the Palestine Government and military authorities, reports the “Exchange Telegraph's” Jerusalem correspondent. The Palestine newspapers were told not to mention his arrival. One Jew was killed and one injured when ■ mine blew up an Army lorry at Rehovoth. SUMMARY COURTS METE OUT JUSTICE Rec. 8 p.m. London, March 6. "The Times” Jerusalem correspondent says the first of the summary military courts sat in the Jerusalem martial law zone, and tried 13 persons. three charged with pulling down wire barricades, and others charged with breaking the curfew. Fines of £1 to £lO were imposed. Six of the defendants were Arabs, there being about 100 Arabs living ip the area. Two courts were in operation. Both were held in school classrooms, with the presiding officer sitting behind a table. The procedure otherwise resembled that of a court-martial. Similar courts begin in Tel Aviv today. The sentences are subject to confirmation by the military commander.
