CEILING PRICES FOR POTATOES ANNOUNCED

INCREASES IN EARLY AND MID-SEASON CROPS (P.A.) Wellington, March 5. Growers’ ceiling prices for potatoes in the 1547-48 season were announced to-day by the Minister of Agriculture (Mr. Cullen). The new schedule provides for increases for early and midseason potatoes in the North Island of £4 a ton in December; £2 a ton in January and February; and in the South Island of £2 a ton in February. Increases in main crop prices for 1948 amount to 10s a ton in both islands.
