MINISTER OF DEFENCE TO VISIT JAPAN

(P.A.) Wellington, March 4 The Minister of Defence (Mr. Jones) stated to-day that he expects to leave New Zealand early next week to visit the New Zealand Forces in Japan. He will travel by Lodestar aircraft and will be accompanied by Major-General N. W. McD. Weir and others. Mr. Jones said the general purpose of the visit was to see something of the work the New Zealanders were doing and conditions under which they were living.
