The familiar tale, descendet from English ballads of centuries ago was seen on the screen some fifteer years ago when the agile Dougla. l Fairbanks, sen., played the title role "Boy From Barnardo’s” The understanding manner ii which waifs, orphans and homeles: boys are lilted to take their place ir life is feelingly portrayed in “Th< Boy From Barnardo’s," which i: showing on Saturday at the Majestii Theatre. Freddie Bartholomew is cas as a priggish little snob who finallj emerges as a likeable fellow aftei having his faults knocked out of him Used as a dupe by a gang of jewe thieves, he is brought before a magistrate, who sends him to the hom< rather than to a reform school. The boys are a decent crowd, but Fredrtj tries his sneaking tricks, and get: thoroughly disliked. Many adventure: befall him before he is a sailor aboarc the finest ship afloat. Mickey R.oonej is cast as the good-hearted Irish frienc of Bartholomew, and Herbert Mundir is excellent in the role of Mr. Jelks one of the instructors.
