Meteorological Office, Wellington, Monday, Feb. 28, 3 p.m. General Situation. —Pressure is high and anti-cyclonic conditions still prevail over the New Zealand area, while a depression covers south-eastern Australia. Forecast. —Winds: Light to moderate but variable with south-east to north-east predominating and to-morrow freshening somewhat. Seas (N.Z. waters): Slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate south-east to north-ast winds, later freshening and tending more northerly . Seas slight to moderate but later rising in the south. Weather: Much low cloud with mist and fog and possibly drizzle at many places, especially in the morning but weather otherwise fajr to fine and mild to warm. The New Zealand Friends’ School, St. John’s Hill, report for 24 hours ending 6 p.m. yesterday: Bright sunshine, 4 hours 10 minutes. Rainfall, nil. Temperature: Maximum, 74deg. Fahr.; minimum, 52deg. Fahr. Time of sunset to-day, 5.0 p.m. Time of sunrise to-morrow, 6.0 a.m. Phases of the Moon for February:—Full Moon, February 4; Last Quarter, February 10; New Moon, February 19; First Quarter, February 26.
