Stockholm Diggers Unearth Old Silver
STOCKHOLM A valuable collection of silver was brought to light by workmen who were .excavating an old houso near the Royal E’alace in this city recently. Two big copper vessels and one obong chest were taken up, all of them filled to the brim with silver coins and silver pieces. There were 18,000 coins including thalers, dated 1619-1695 which were jmade in Kremnitz, Hungary, for thi> emperors, Mattias, Ferdinand 111 and Leopold I, one thaler dated 1667 Braunschweig-Luneburg, Rudolf August, Zellerfeld, and one dated 1624, made in Stolberg for Count Wolfgang George of Stolberg-Wemigerode. Theri were also some English and German pieces.
