Meteorological Office, Wellington, Monday, Feb, 27, 3 p.m. General Situation.—Anti-cyclonic conditions still prevail over New Zealand but highest pressure is now near Chatham Island. Conditions are disturbed over Eastern Australia. Forecast.—Winds: Light to moderate and variable with east to north prevailing and later gradually freshening. Seas (New Zealand waters): Slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate but freshening north-easterly winds and moderate but later rising seas. Weather: Considerable low cloud and in places fog or light drizzling rain, especially in the morning, but weather mostly fair to fine. Temperatures mild to warm. The New Zealand Friends’ School, St. John’s Hill, report for 24 hours ending 6 p.m. yesterday: Bright sunshine, 1 hour. Rainfall, nil. Temperature: Maximum, 70deg. Fahr.; minimum, 55deg. Fahr. Time of sunset, to-day, 7.08 p.m. Time of sunrise to-morrow, 6 a.m. Phases of the Moon for February:—Full Moon, February 4; Last Quarter, February 10; New Moon, February 19; First Quarter, February 26.
