TWO MEN KILLED

LORRY HITS POLE DRIVER LATER ARRESTED I Per Press Association. 1 PALMERSTON N., Feb. 25. When a motor-truck struck a power pole in Palmerston North late on Saturday night, Arthur Taylor and Garnett Herbert William Over, both middle-aged, suffered severe injuries from which they died. The driver of the truck, Laurence De Vantjer, and two others, who were in the cab, were uninjured. The two deceased, who were riding on the tray of the lorry suffered the full force of the impact, the severity I of which can be judged from the fact [that the tray was torn off the chassis i and thrown across the street.
