A Popular Win.
“At last I have broken a record,” said A. J. (“Mick”) Darby, of Wanganui, on Saturday, after his success in the 220yds. hurdle race on Cook’s Gardens, at the West Coast (North Island) Amateur Athletic Centre's championship meeting. It was a popular win. Darby has figured prominently in many forms of sport and is one of the outstanding athletes of his day.
