Druids’ Hall Dance. ’ To-night (Saturday), an excellent programme of old-time and modern dances has been arranged and, together with snappy and popular music, will assure all patrons of an excellent night’s dancing. Forthcoming Garden Party. Saturday, March 4, is the date chosen for a garden party under the auspices of the Fordell-Mangamahu I branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union. The party will be held at Mr. J. Wyley's residence, “Riverly,” Fordell, at 2 p.m. There will be produce, meat, cake stalls, etc. A free bus is to leave Martin and Vernon’s at 1.30 p.m., and those wishing to attend are advised to book early. Children Entertained. There was a happy party at the Margaret Watt Home on Thursday afternoon, when Miss C. Crichton Imrie entertained the children with stories about the children of Japan, giving them a graphic description of the Festival of the Dolls, and also of the Boys’ Festival. A dainty tea was served by Miss Rule, assisted by Miss Finlayson, and Mr. James Grant, a member of the executive, introduced Miss Imrie. The children took special interest in the Japanespe doll Miss Imrie had brought to illustrate her talk and which was dressed in the gorgeous robes specially made for little girls during cherry blossom time.

Gift Evening. Miss Vera Higgle, who is to be married shortly, was the guest of honour at a “gift" evening held at the home of Mrs. H. Morgan, Fordell, the joint hostesses being Mesdames Morgan and D. Higgle. A very happy evening was spent in dancing, community singing, cards, and competitions. The guest of honour opened the many useful gift parcels and was given musical honours. Mr. Currie, on behalf of Miss Higgle, expressed thanks to Mrs. Morgan and Mrs. Higgle for arranging the party and to the guests for their gifts. Guests present included: —Mr. and Mrs. H. Morgan, Mr. and Mrs. D. 'Higgle, Mr. and Mrs. R. Sutherland, [Mr. and Mrs. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Ihwaites; Mesdames Christie, Stewart, Lloyd, Lee, Bruce, Podjursky; Misses Cooper, Mason, Stokes, Tilley, Christie (2), Barnes, Skoglund, Killalea, M. Higgle, Lloyd, V. Higgle, O'Leary. Kennedy; Messrs. Cameron, Currie, B. Higgle, Robins, and O'Leary (2).
