Miss Valerie Todd, Makirikiri, left yesterday for Dunedin.
Mrs. McShane, Ohakune, is visiting Wanganui. Miss Cracroft Wilson, of Raetihi, is a visitor to Wanganui for the races. Miss Joan Hunter, of Napier, is visiting Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. A. Barton, were Wanganui visitors to Wellington this week. Mrs. J. Wilson, of New Plymouth, is the guest of Mrs. Athol Wilson, St. John's Hill.
Mrs. J. Aitken, Bell Block, Taranaki, is visiting Wanganui.
Miss Vera Madeley and her mother, Mrs. M. Madeley, Gonville, are at present in Rotorua, and intend visiting Waitomo before returning home early next week.
Mr. and Mrs. T. E. McLean, of Raetihi. are the guests for the weekend of Mrs. A. H. McLean, Selwyn Street.
Mrs. Ronald Doig, who has been visiting Wanganui, returned to Wellington yesterday.
Miss Barbara Babbage, Rawhiti Place, has returned hame from a short holiday in Wellington.
The Misses Joyce and Nance O'Neill have returned to Wanganui from Wellington.
Mrs. McCready, of Christchurch, arrived in Wanganui yesterday and is staying with Mrs. W. L. Young, Hatrick Terrace.
Miss L. Pownall and Miss K. Pownall, of Wellington, have been spending a few days in Wanganui as the guests of Mrs. C. G. Young, Purnell Street.
Miss Hamilton and Miss B. Hamilton, Durie Hill, who are spending a month in Timaru, intend visiting Franz Josef Glacier and Eglinton Valley before returning to Wanganui.
Mrs. T. N. Dickson, Wanganui, accompanied her husband to Hamilton for the annual conference of the N.Z. Federal Builders’ and Contractors’ Industrial Association of Employers.
Miss M. Mawson, who has been spending a holiday in the up-river district of Wanganui, has returned to Hamilton.
Miss H? M. Barnott, of Wanganui, who has been on a month's trip to Sydney and Melbourne, is visiting her sister, Mrs. C. R. Cooke, Hamilton. She is accompanied by her sister-in-law, Mrs. T. M. Barnott, Raetihi.
Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Kent have, through their private secretaries, informed Miss Rosemary Rees that they will have much pleasure in accepting a copy of two of her books—“My New Zealand Holiday" and “Sing a Song o’ Sydney” states a London correspondent, writing on February 2. For her coming novel, now nearing completion, Miss Rees has divided the setting between London and Sussex. She has a country cottage on the far-famed Downs.
