FEILDING SALE

[ Per Press Association.] FEILDING, Feb. 24,

Another huge entry of 3000 head of sheep was entered at the Feilding sale to-day, values of two-tooths being back 2s 6d. while aged sheep were firm at late rates. Cattle values generally were quiet. The mutton market was depressed. Range of prices: Fat Sheep.—Wethers, prime, 17s to 17s 7d, light Ils to 15s; ewes 8s to Ils, maiden do., 14s to 16s Id; lambs, 14s to 20s.

Store Sheep. —Two-tooth ewes, best, 30s to 355, others 24s 6d to 295; 5-year do., good. 15s 7d to 17s 7d, backward, 12s 6d to 14s 6d. m.a. do.. 15s to 16s, 4-5-yr. do., 13s 8d to 15s; b.f. lambs, 10s 6d to 13s 6d, wethers, do., 14s to 15s 6d.

Store Cattle. —Forward steers, £8 15s to £9 7s 6d; weaner heifers, £2 to £3 4s; forward cows, £3 10s 9d to £4 10s. Fat Cattle.—Prime cows, £6 15s to £B, lighter £4 5s to £6 ss; light heifers, £5 to £5 10s; light bullocks, £S.

Dairy Cattle.—Springing cows, £5 10s to £8; do., heifers, £7 to £7 10s.

MANGAOHANE SALE

The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report a yarding of 10,000 sheep and 300 cattle at the above annual fixture. Outside buyers were in attendance from Waikato, Wanganui and East Coast. The breeding ewes came forward in excellent condition but values were on a much lower basis than last year. The lop pen of 11.30 5-year ewes realised 15s 10d to 15s lid compared to 26s Id last year, the second pen of medium 5year ewes drafted for size and condition realised 13s 10d to 14s lOd. The 4th. wethers realised 15s Bd, while 1253 2th. wethers made up to 13s lOd, 2th. ewes (small) 16s Bd, 4th. ewes (small) 15s 4d. The medium 2th. wethers made Ils 6d to 12s, medium ewe lambs 10s 6d, tail end lots 4s lid, 6-year ewes ex Otupae Station realised Hs 6d, the 2-year steers a/c. Mangaohane realised £6 12s 6d, smaller sorts £5 ss.
