WAVERLEY SCHOOL SPORTS

(Own Correspondent). WAVERLEY, Feb. 24. The pupils of the Waveriey Public School entered wholeheartedly into the "Physical Fitness” campaign when they took part in a display of tabloid sports at. the recratioa grounds on Thursday afternoon. Points were given for neatness, marching, and discipline of leaders besides points for competing in the following events: High jump, long jump, standing jump. 75 yards fiat, senr., 50 yards relay, marching and time-drill. Results were as follows: Senior Girls.—Gabrielle Morrison's team (colours black), 58 points, 1; Joyce Oaken ful's team (colours yellow), 56, 2; Joan Morton's team (colours blue), 53, 3. Senior Boys.—Frank Watties team (colours blue), 60 points, 1; P Bosher’s team (colours orange), 52, 2; Des. Leahy’s team (colours yellow), 51, 3. Junior Boys. Douglas Morrison's team (colours red), Kohi, 1; Barry Thomason's team (colours orange) and Peter Bromileys team (colours black), 55 points (equal) 2. Junior Girls. —June Lupton's team (colours orange), 59 points, 1; Sybil Morrison’s team (colours black), 54 points, 2; Betty McGonagle’s team (colours blue), 45 points, 3. The officials present, were: Messrs. Sheppard, Alex. Elmslie, H. Stewart, and Rev. Ross.
