EROCKING ON THE LAWN
MIXTURE OF SEASONS SUITS AND SUMMER WEAR. Although it was the autumn meeting of the Wanganui Jockey Club, the weather yesterday for the opening day was almost that of summer, so was was it at mid-day. Later, however, there was crispness in the air that unmistakably proclaimed the first stages of autumn. On such a day there was an inevitable mixture of seasons in the frockings. A few, but only a very few of the autumn styles in clothes made their appearance, but there were a number of the new felt hats and velours, some with feather trimming and others with cire ribbon or leather adornment.
