MUSIC AT THE RACES
QUEEN ALEXANDRA BAND PROGRAMME FOR TO-DAY The band music, which is an accepted feature of the Wanganu Jockey Club race meetings, will be provided to-day and Saturday by the Queen Alexandra Mounted Rifles Band under the direction of Conductor A. R. Spurdie. Following is the programme o* musical items for to-day:—Grand contest quickstep. “Collingwood," Pette’; waltz. “Cinderella," "Sweetheart," a' Strauss and B. Dale; intermezzorococo, “Rendez-Vous,” W. Aletter; contest quickstep. “The Cyclone," G Allan; march from “The Fleets Lit Up." Vivian Ellis; reverie, "Bells at Sunset,” Gordon Mackenzie; contest quickstep, "Lefebore," G. Allan humoresque, “A Musical Switch." K J. Alford; march, “Strike up the Band," O. Gershwin: descriptive piece “The Forge in the Forest." S. Cope: tattoo. "Toy Town," H. Jordon: contest quickstep, “The Challenge," W. Calvert.
