FEILDING EWE FAIR

The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Dist. Co., Ltd., report on the Fei'lding ewe fair as follows: —This fixture drew a large attendance of farmers, although the number of operators from outside districts was smaller than for some years past. In the two-tooth section we submitted some outstanding lines from the principal flocks in the district. The sale opened strongly and bidding was free till the conclusion. Although values were well below those ruling last year realisations were considerably better than anticiaptions. In the older ewe section there was a heavy yarding of full and broken mouth sheep whose place should be the freezing works and not in the yards as breeds. There was little demand for this class and although vendors were prepared to meet the market bidding was dull. For sound sheep with good mouths competition was free and realisations were at par with sales at other points. Quotations: —
