TAIHAPE SHOW
TO-MORROW’S BIG EVENT (Own Correspondent) TAIHAPE, Feb. 21. All roads will lead to the Taihape Domain on Thursday for the 28th annual show of the Rangitikei A. and P. Association. Side-shows will be present in large numbers and all the attractions that make an agricultural and pastoral show worth while will be offered to the public. Good prizes will be competed for, and everything points to a most successful function. The collection of trophies open for competition is one of the best in the history of the association and entries have been received from far and near. The trophies for the weightjudging competition have been made particularly attractive this year. Floodlight sports will be held at night. Order of Events. The following is the order of events: —9 a.m., draught horses; 9.30 a.m., harness horses; 9.30 a.m., saddle horses; 10 a.m., miscellaneous horses; 10 a.m., ponies. Luncheon. 12.30 p.m., maiden jumping competition; 1 p.m., low jump competition; 1.15 p.m., maiden pony jumping competition; 1.45 p.m., open pony competition; 2 p.m., grand parade; 2.30 p.m., open hunters’ competition; 3 p.m., hunters’ competition (lady riders only); 3.30 p.m., leaping competition; 3.45 p.m., dual jumping competition, 4 p.m., bareback riding; 4.15 p.m., wire jump; 4.30 p.m., pony high jump; 8 p.m., floodlight sports.
