In an "Ork" Cup match between Gallichan’s XI., Palmerston North, and the local team, played on the Domain at the week-end, Hunterville was defeated by 60 runs on the lirs. limings. The wicket, which was being used lot the first lime this season. was (treacherous and very much in favour of the bowlers. Hunlerville, batting first, found the runs hard to get and were all out for 6.. The visitors fared little better until Gallichan and Ross took the score to the required number with six wickets down. Bowling for the visitors, Jewett took five for 37 and Lunn four for 34, while for Hunterville, Towers took three for 18, Duncan three for 41, Hallwood two for 24. Baker one for 16, and Low one for 18. In the second innings, Hunterville compiled 141 for nine wickets (declared). leaving the visitors under an hour to play. during which thex scorer! 56 lot five wickets. FITNESS WEEK The main day of ’’Fitness Week” in Hunterville will be to-morrow, when bowling. croquet and tennis clubs are holding a special day at the lawns and inviting to attend anyone interested in any way with the sports. A large attendance is expected, a number of old players and many new’ ones intimating their intention of being nresent.
