BROKEN HILL MINE WORK TO CEASE LN MARCH SYDNEY, Feb. 18. Mr. W. N. Cranz, manager of the Broken Hill Proprietary mine, announced that operations at the mine would cease on March 4. The decision to close the mine is the result of the workable ore being exhausted. Since work began at the mine in 1884 about 12,300,000 tons of ore have been mined, and the aggregate va-lue of mineral extracted is about. £160,000.000.
