MR. FRANK GLASGOW DEAD ONCE STATIONED AT WANG AM I One of New Zealand’s greatest Rugby players, Mr. Frank Glasgow, a member of the famous 1905 All Black team, died at Wellington yesterday, according to a Press Association message received in Wanganui. Mr. Glasgow, who was 58 years of age, was at the time of his death manager of the Te Aro branch of the Bank of New Zealand. During his long career in ’be Bank of New Zealand’s service, Mr. Glasgow was stationed for a time in the Wanganui branch. Frank Glasgow was a member of the famous 1905 All Black side, which toured Great Britain and suffered only one loss, at the hands of Wales. He was a forward, heavy, fast, and determined, of the type which made the New Zealand Rugby sides of those days invincible. He had been prominent in provincial Rugby for some years before his selection, his outstanding football ability reaching its full flower while he was stationed in Taranaki. He was selected for the All Blacks at the age of 25, when he was sft. lOin. in height and weighed 13st. 31b. His position in the scrum was hooker. He played 11 games on the tour, scoring three tries. During the war Mr. Glasgow held the rank of sergeant at the Tauherenikau camp.
