I Thieves who carried out,a smash and grab raid on a jewellery shop at, Milton on Saturday night were evi-i dently disturbed, for after taking ai quantity of articles from the window, mostly women's watches, they left un-: touched rings and watches well within , their reach. A diamond was used to cut a circle ! about nine inches in diameter. A brick i was then used to break a larger hole and through this hole watches of fairly substantial value were removed. The window was cracked from top to bottom and falling glass caused considerable damage to crystal and china- i ware.
