RAETIHI V. OHAKUNE (Own Correspondent.) RAETIHI, Feb. 18. On Friday afternoon, at Raetihi, teams from the above mentioned schools played the first matches of the new inter-school series. At cricket, with each side having 35 minutes' batting time, the Ohakune side won by scoring 54 runs to their opponents’ ' 46. For Ohakune Pope (16) and Sheerin (12) were the chief scorers, while Haitana made 20 runs for the Raetihi side. A . particularly bright piece of work was the smart fielding of a particularly “hot” ball by Miles. This piece of work caused Haitaoa to be run out. At baseball-rounders the Raetihi girls snatched victory by the narrow margin of one run. the score being 80 to 79 in Raetihi’s favour. For Raetihi rounders were scored by Audrey Langdon (2), and Pat Griffin (1). For Ohakune rounders were scored by Ivy Watson (2), Norma Medak (1), Margaret Nankivell (1), and Doreen O’Connell (3).
