The announcing was done by Michael Miles with Dick Bollard as technician and Ken James advertising manager. There was a large attendance of interested spectators and a loud speaker was installed outside the premises. Items were given by Goile’s Orchestra, Miss Veronica Thomas and Douglas Scott (vocalists) and Mr. A. Feeney (pianist). Messrs. J. L. Goile and R. Grantham (piano-accordion duo), Miss May Taaffe accompanied the vocalists. This is the first time such a broadcast has been attempted in New Zealand and credit is due to Mr. Gray for his enterprise.
