The New Zealand amateur cycling championships were completed at the Caledonian Ground on Saturday before a fairly large attendance. A strong north-west, wind made ridin t conditions difficult during the firsl part of the programme but there was an improvement later, when good times were recorded. Results:— 500 Metres Sprrnt Championship.— R. Ulmer (Wellington> 1, A. Pennington (Wellington) 2, G. L. Thomson (Canterbury) 3. Ten-mile Championship.- J. Wilsoi (Wellington) 1, L. Thomson (Canterbury) 2, C. M. Hansen (Otago) 3 Fourteen started. Won by half < wheel, with a length between seconc and third. Time, 24min. 27 2-ssec. Five-mile Junior Championship.H. R. Baldwin (Auckland) 1, R. II Knight (Canterbury! 2, C. R. Evan: (Canterbury) 3. Won by thre< lengths, with a length between sec ond and third. Time, 12min. 43sec Half-mile Junior Championship.--H. R.
