The French Air Mission found only two types of American mill- | tary planes they considered su- i perior to the German, Mr. Morgenthau told the Senate Military j Affairs Committee. He added that the French was prepared to spend 65,003,000 dollars if they could get a thousand of them by July 1. He did not state, but it is presumed’ that the machines are the Curtis- ’ Wright fighter and Douglas bomber.. The mission was informed that it would be impossible to manufacture the machines in time. It was revealed that Messrs. Woodring, Louis and Johnson protested against Mr. Roosevelt's instructions to co-operate with the French commission in buying military aircraft, but the President overruled them. Mr.
