SPORT OF BASEBALL
FURTHER PROGRESS MADE RUGBY CLUBS INTERESTED. The sport of baseball continues lprogress in the Wanganui district, the latest centre to begin activity being Taihape, where, at the first call, 21 men and 35 women attended for practice. In Wanganui City most of the Rugby Football clubs are showing an interest in the game, largely because the Pirates Club was enterprising enough to form a baseball team and take part in the cup competitions. It is believed that the Kaierau Club will have a baseball team next year and possibly Wanganui and Old Boys and Marist. The old rivalry of the Rugby field will thus be resurrected in another form of summer sport. The newly-formed Taihape Baseball
Club intends parading in full force for the Fitness Week demonstrations. Two Wangdnui teams are to visit Taihape to-morrow week. One will ' play against a Taihape team and Star A. and Merewethers, the two Wanganui sides, will play an exhiblI tion match.
