OBITUARY

MRS. W. LEWIS There passed away on Thursday at Wanganui a very ol'd and respected resident of Rangitikei in the person of Mrs. W. Lewis, ot Turakina, in her S4th. year. It was only a short time ago that Mrs. Lewis celebrated her 93rd. birthday, which was attended by a large number o£ her descendants. The chief event was the lighting ot a forest of candles, this being a pleasant ritual.

The late Mrs. Lewis held some vivid memories of the wonderful progress of the Rangitikei district and viewed with pride the productivity and prosperity of her adopted country. Mr. Lewis passed on several years ago. The funeral will leave the residence of her son, Mr. N. Lewis, Crofton, at 2 o'clock this afternoon for the Greatford cemetery. The members of Court Little John are requested to attend lhe funeral.
