WANGANUI CHORAL SOCIETY

APPEAL FOR TENORS AND BASSES A strengthening of the male section ot the Wanganui Choral Society is being attempted and an appeal is being made at present for tenors and basses to link up. This society has made a name for itself and enjoyed an enviable position amongst similar societies in the Dominion, and the executive is anxious that this position be maintained. In order to present works, large or small, at the standard of excellence laid down by the conductor, it is imperative that additional men be enrolled. In a city the size of Wanganui it is felt that thqre should be no difficulty in obtaining at least 80 male singers who enjoy this form of part-singing, which gives pleasure Io a large section of the community. A special appeal is made to past male members who, for various reasons. have lost touch with the society. Their return would be an inspiration to those who have been regular attenders at weekly rehearsals during past years. Intending male members, old and new, are invited to communicate, in the first place, with the hon. secretary, Mr. J. Whitlock. 3 Pitt Street, or with Mr. F. W. Slater, 59 Nelson Street.

No new lady members can be enrolled until the male section is on a satisfactory basis.
