LORRY'S PLUNGE OFF ROAD DRIVER BADLY INJURED ( Pci 19 ess Association. | DUNEDIN, Feb. 17. ! Presumably due to the steering gear jamming, a heavy motor-lorry laden with bricks and sand left the road in |a deep cutting three miles north of Balclutha at about 6.40 last night and crashed into a telegraph pole. I The driver, Herbert Anscombe, a married man residing at Clydevale, suffered severe head injuries, which ‘made him unconscious and he was taken in an ambulance to the Baljclutha Hospital. He also suffered injuries to a leg. The other occupant |ol the lorry, Victor Hornby, of Clyde■vale, escaped lightly, his minor injuries not. necessitating his removal to 'hospital.
