EARLY MORNING THEFT

CAR STOLEN IN HASTINGS WATCHMAN OUTWITTED ( Per Press Associali.m-1 HASTINGS, Feb. 16. Unusual circumstances surround the theft of a motor-car and a quantity of tools, of a total value of £.330, taken from a Hastings garage. A watchman inspecting the premises found nothing unusual at 2 a m . but shortly after continuing his round he heard the sound of a car engine. Opening the sliding doors and hastily returning he found the car gone. It is thought that some person entered the premises before they were locked up at 8 p.m. the previous day and hid in the car.
