AMERICA FOLLOWS ADVICE
I DE FACTO RECOGNITION OF FRANCO Received Feb. 16, 8 p.m. WASHINGTON. Feb. 16. American officials, following the advice of Britain, have granted General Franco de facto recognition. They indicated that the United States would not take action pending a further clarification of the situation. A dispatch from Lima stated that Peru was the first American government to recognise General Franco.
