ENGLISH CRICKETERS ARRIVE TO-DAY

! SIR JULIEN CAHN’S TEAM MATCH WITH WANGANUI TO-MORROW With the exception of Sir Julien Cahn himself and C. C. Goodway, who are scheduled to arrive by the Monterey at Auckland to-day and fly to Wanganui, members of Sir Julien Cahn’s critket team to play Wanganui on Cook’s Gardens to-morrow are to arrive by train from Marton at 6.45 a.m. to-day. The president of the Wanganui Cricket Association, Mr. R. E. Cuthbertson, was to travel with the players from Hamilton last night, and the tourists were to be met on arrival by members of the Management Committee and Mr. H. Cuming, captain of the Wanganui team. The players are being privately billeted during their tour, the Wanganui arrangements being in the hands of Messrs. H. Cuming and R. I. Sewell. The tourists and their hosts have been offered the freedom of the Commercial Club. They have also been invited to the Majestic Theatre to-night and have been made honorary members of the Wanganui Club. Mr. E. G. Wolfe, the manager of the team, has indicated .that the players will not have any official engagements in the morning, but they may • practice in the afternoon on Cook’s Gardens. Late tn the afternoon a gathering will be held at which members of thz home team will meet members of the visiting mat.
