The Portsmouth branch commum cated with its head oflice in Londe and the assistance of the High Com missioner, Mr. W. J. Jordan, wa sought. The result was that arrange ments were made for the Portsmout; bank to change the crew’s money, bu no man was allowed to change mor than £5O worth.
