MAXWELL MEETING. The February meeting was well atj tended. After the singing of the New Zealand Anthem the president extended a welcome to ali, several visitors being present. 1 It was unanimously decided to send a donation to help with the Maori exhibit at the Centennial Exhibition in Wellington. A report on the recent bazaar was read by the secretary, showing how successful it had ben and how greatly ; the hall fund had benefited. As in all probability the hall will be dismantled by the date of the March meeting, Mrs. Morrison invited the members to hold that meeting at her home, which invitation was accepted unanimously. As the flower competition that day will be a collection of dahlias, it is hoped that all members will attend and help to make quite a dahlia show. The “golden thread” was continued by Mrs. Brine, who gave a most interesting reading on South Africa. Miss Smith, of the Federation Committee, spoke on W.I. matters. Members were reminded of the annual meeting which will take place in March, and were asked to send in their nominations for committee and president not later than the 21st inst. Two fun competitions were won respectively by Mrs. Gillies and Miss Smith. The points competition for tall vase of flowers (judged by Mesdames Gould and Humphreys) was won by Mrs. Gillies, with Mrs Munday second and Miss Morrison third. Afternoon tea was enjoyed by a happy meeting, which closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
