The retrial of George Albert Terry on a charge of negligently driving a car and causing the death of Douglas Haig Gutsell was held in the Supreme Court. When the case was first heard on February 7, the jury was unable to reach agreement and the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) discharged the jury and ordered a new trial. A repetition of the evidence given in the first hearing was given by James Cecil Neil, surveyor, DetectiveSergeant Macdonald Brown, Sidney John Thomas Gutsell, Constable Harris, Edward Francis Holloway, Sergeant Sughrue, and Detective-Ser-geant Taylor. Evidence for the defence was given by accused. After a retirement of five hours and a-half, the jury reported that it was unable to agree on a verdict. Mr. Adams moved for a new trial and His Honour fixed the new trial for the next sess'on of the Supreme Court. Bail was allowed as formerly
