KAITOKE BIRTHDAY MEETING ' There was a large attendance at the birthday meeting of the Kaitoke W.I. Mrs. Ow'les welcomed the many I visitors from nearby institutes. | Mr. Palmer entertained with his i sailor doll, then tw o soeigs were sung I by Mrs. Bellringer. Two competitions were given and j both were won by visitors. 1 Mrs. Gillies again donated the 1 birthday cake, which was iced by | Mrs. Sargeant. i Members were again entertained ; with a song by Mrs. Willis and a j vocal duet by Mrs. Wills and Mrs Bellringer. : The hairpin worked cushion was ! won by Mrs. Garner. The results ol ! the competitions were: Dahlias: Large. Mrs. Shanks; champion bloom i Mrs. Shanks; pompom. Mrs. Bradishaw; charms, Mrs. Shanks. The comI petitions fpr next month will be:— j Points: Butterless sponge with jair filling. Garden Circle: Three asters ! three zinnias, three large, three pompom and three charm dahlias, best collection of marigolds. 12 varieties of mixed flowers, fall vase of flowers posy < novice only) a<nd hospital box The hostesses will be Mesdames Hogg White, Pritchard and Miss Pritchard
