M.C.C. IN AFRICA
PETROL BURNT DRYING OF WICKET SALISBURY, Feb. 13. Owing to heavy rain overnight there was no play before lunch tQrday in the cricket match between Rhodesia and the touring M.C.C. team. The wicket was dried by pouring 40 gallons of petrol on to it, and then igniting the petrol. The match was drawn. The scores were: M.C.C., 180 and 174 for three wickets, declared. Rhodesia 96 and 95 for six (Goddard two for 22). SOME NEW MEN TEAM FOR FOURTH TEST JOHANNESBURG, Feb. 13. South Africa’s team for the fourth Test against England, which is to commence on February 18, is as follows : A. Melville (Transvaal), captain, B. Mitchell (Transvaal, A. D. Nourse (Natal), K. G. Viljoen (Transvaal), E. A. B. Rowan (Transvaal), P. G van der Byl (Western Province), E. L. Dalton ((Natal), A. B. C. Langton (Natal), N. Gordon (Transvaal), J. C. Newton (Orange Free State), and R. E. Grieveson (Transvaal).
