WANGANUI CENTRE PAIRS TOURNAMENT YESTERDAY'S RESULTS The Wanganui Bowling Centre’s open pairs tournament started yesterday. Twenty-eight pairs, divided into four sections, are taking part. The Wanganui and St. John’s greens are being used. One pair each from Tailiape and Marton are the only outside players, as all the others are from the local clubs. Mr. L. Bassett, president of the centre, welcomed players on the St. John's green, and Mr. A. Crawfora did likewise at the Wanganui green. The rounds are of 18 ends with a time limit of IS hours. Four rounds were played yesterday. The. remaining rounds in section play will be disposed of this morning, after whicn winners of sections will start post section play on the one-life system on the St. John’s green. The greens were very fast but a gusty wind at times gave trouble to players. Many interesting games were witnessed, and many took the full time limit.
