TWO PATIENTS REMOVED FROM PALMERSTON NORTH [ Per Pres Association.] AUCKLAND, Feb. 13. An unexpected demand for “iron lung” treatment for two patients at the Palmerston North Hospital, which is not yet equipped with an “iron | lung,” resulted in special arrangements being made for the transport of the two patients, a woman and a boy, ; to centres where the necessary apparatus was immediately available. The woman was brought to Auckland by train and admitted to the I Auckland Hospital, where she is reported to be making satisfactory progress, and the boy was taken to Wellington to enable special treatment to be applied. Two doctors accompanied ‘he woman patient on her journey to Auckland to be sure that she suffered no ill effects and to watch her condition carefully.
