Mr. F. E. McCallum, manager of the Regent and Cosy Theatres, Masterton, has received notice of his transfer to Nelson. He will take up his new duties early in March. The Rev. H. R. Fell, M.A.. 8.D., Greymouth, who has been appointed minister of the Kent Terrace Presbyterian Church in succession to the late Rev. W. Gilmour, will be inducted at a service on Thursday evening. The Hon. Archie Crofts. Melbourne, a member of the Victorian Legislative Council, who has been touring New Zealand accompanied hy his wife and daughter for the past month, visited Wanganui yesterday. Mr. D. Wright, formerly of Auckland. has taken up duties with the Commercial Union Assurance Co., in Napier. Mr. Wright is well known in Rugby circles and represented Auckland for a number of years. Sir William Gowers, formerly Governor of the Uganda Protectorate and now head of the Crown Agents’ Department, Colonial Office, arrived at Auckland by the Stratheden on Friday as a round-trip passenger from London. Mr. R. Fletcher has been appointed to represent the Wanganui Aero Club for the Memorial Trophy to be held in conjunction with the opening of the new Palmerston North Aero Club’s hangar early next month. Professor R. S. Aitken, who was a New Zealand Rhodes scholar of 1924, and who was recently appointed Regius Professor of Medicine in the University of Aberdeen, delivered his inaugural lecture at. Marischal College last week, the subject, being “Medicine in the University." Mr. A. Naylor, who has been appointed associate to His Honour. Si’* John Reed, is visiting Wanganui. Mr. Naylor, who is a son of the former harbourmaster at. Wanganui, was formerly on the Court staff at. Wanganui, and latterly secretary of the Mortgagors and Lessees Rehabilita- j tion Commission in this city. Mr. H. Linley Rlnchardson, formerly art master in the Wellington Technical College, who has been in England for several years past, is returning to New Zealand by the Strathallan, which left England on January 20. Mr. Richardson, whose work is well known in this country, has exhibited with considerable success in England. He will be accompanied by his wife.
