HASTINGS ENGAGEMENT

WANGANUI PIPE BAND AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION CRITICISED [ Per Press Association.] HASTINGS, Feb. 12. Criticism of the action of the Hawke’s Bay Agricultural Association in engaging the Wanganui Highland Pipe Band to play at the autumn show on March 25 next, was voiced by Mr. C. Bryant, chairman of the Hawke’s Bay Brass Bands’ Association, to-night. He contended that the association should not have gone outside the province. “There is an unwritten law among bands not to encroach on each other’s territory,” said Mr. Bryant. “In view of this I will be surprised if the Wanganui pipers come to Hastings.”
