GARDEN CIRCLE SUCCESS (Own Correspondent). RANGIWAHIA, Feb. 13. The day of the Rangiwahia Garden Circle’s flower show was typical of summer weather. Garden circle mcm- : I cis’ exhibits were worthy of a much I bigger show, thus demonstrating that 1 (he work of the circle was really I north while. I A small section of cookery, as is usual in Rangiwahia, was well com- | peted for and was first class in quaiity. 1 Ihe decorative class was disappointing in that there was few entries. The president, Miss McKenzie, congratulated the members of the garden circle on the success of the show and thanked the donors of the points prizes. Mrs. Jones won Mrs. Jenkins’ trophy for the best bed of phlox drummondi. The bed was four feet by two feet and was judged theh first week in February. Miss Morgan won the points prize for cooking, Mrs. Guthrie for the decorative, and Mrs. Hoskin for the cut flowers. Mrs. Hoskin also won the trophy for the most points over the whole show. The next garden circle meeting will be held at Mrs. R. Deroles’ garden. Arrangements were made for the Oroua group meeting to be held on Thursday, February 9, and members were asked to support the competitions. Afternoon tea was served and, it being sheep fair day in Rangiwahia. a tea booth was held and a small charge was made.
