FITNESS WEEK AT PATEA
(Own Correspondent). PATEA, Feb. 13. Teams from New Plymouth and WanganuJ are to take part in an exhibition of badminton to be held in the school assembly hall during Fitness Week. The band has expressed willingness to co-operate on Saturday, 18th. f and
Friday, 24th. t The Boy Scouts and Girl Guides are t to be asked to take part in the pro- 1 cession leaving the post office, with z the band, at 1.45 p.m. on Saturday i next, 18th. On arrival at the Domain ] a brief address will be given by the Mayor and the chairman of the ( County Council. i Mr. J. Bates has been appointed to 1 arrange a miniature rifle match be- 1 tween members of the club and a team from the various sports bodies. At a recent committee meeting of ■
the Patea Golf Club it was decided that the links will be open to the public free of charge during Fitness Week and any persons wishing to play are invited to avail themselves of the opportunity. A demonstration will be given one evening by some of the leading players and those of the public present will be given the opportunity to play a few holes with members. A "drive” for new players is to be undertaken as a way of furthering the objects of Fitness Week.
