ANNUAL MEETING HELD ELECTION OF OFFICERS The annual meeting of the Wanganui Choral Society was held last night . for the purpose of electing officers for j 1939. Mr. G. Mcßeth was re-elected patron of the society. There was no nominee present willing to accept the position of president and Mr. E. J. Gilberd consented to e- ; main in that position until another , president was elected and on the condition that another was sought. Mr. J. B. Whitlock was elected sec- j retary ’in place of Miss E. Christie, who becomes registrar. Miss A. Kidd • was re-elected as treasurer. Both Mr. F. Slater, as conductor, and Mr. J. Emmett, deputy-conductor, were reelected. The vice-presidents are: Messrs. M. Kinder, Canty, L. E. Bridges. Committee: Mrs. Wellard, Mrs. Linaker, Mr. Grant, Miss Brailsford, Miss James. Other positions were filled as follows: Accompanist, . Mr. H. Nelson; librarian, Mr. L. E. Bridges; auditor, Mr. C. S. Brown.
