I and high temperatures. bush fire: ’ sprang up again in Victoria to-daj t ai: several points. Black Forest, neat s Woodend, is ablaze on a 12-mile : front, and is being fought by 30(. men. Three houses were destroyed : and others endangered. ■ Another fire near Marysville threatened a mill before tire- , fighters diverted it towards the already burnt-out country. Marysville township is safe. Bush on the Tallarook Ranges is burning on a 10-mile front, but no townships are in dat.ger. Farmers are moving their stock to safety. The present fires are unlikely to gain the magnitude of those last month owing to the breaks formed by the previously burnt-out country. The city temperature reached 106.5 degrees and thermometers climbed to 110 in the country. The city is shrouded by bushfire smoke.
