Miss Horrell, of Rangiora, is spending a holiday in Wanganui. Mrs. J. N. Lowry, Hawke’s Bay, was a week-end visitor to Wanganui. Miss F. Stephenson, Christchurch, is visiting Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Lowry, Taihape, were in Wanganui during the weekend. Mrs. V. Strachan. Pahiatua, has been visiting Wanganui. Mrs. G. M. Keenan arrived fron - Napier at the week-end. Miss MacDonald, Mangamahu, has returned home after spending a holi day in Wellington. Miss M. Uniacke, of Stratford, whe has been the guest of Miss Dorothj Polson, “Manurewa,” Fordell, has re turned. Mrs. F. L. Peck and Miss M. Peck College Street, went to Wellingtor during the week-end. Miss Gwen Fulton, of Pukekohe, i‘ visiting her uncle, Mr. N. Fulton anc Mrs. Fulton, St. John’s Hill. Mrs. John Millward. St. John’s Hill is staying with her sister, Mrs. Huthwaite Ronaldson, of Portland Road Remuera. Miss Ruth Smith has arrived fron - Rangiora to join the teaching staff ol the Wanganui Technical College. Mrs. George Collins, Mangamahu left yesterday to spend a week’s holiday at Lake Taupo. Dr. Elizabeth Gunn, director ol school hygiene, was a visitor to Wanganui on Saturday to attend the official opening of the children’s health camp. Miss Anne Bain. Wanganui, has returned to New Zealand after a work tour. She left Wellington for Wanganui on Saturday. Mrs. M. M. Hardy, Liverpool Street is spending several weeks’ holiday ir Auckland and Whangarei. On her return she will spend a fortnight in New Plymouth with her son, Mr. Geoff Hardy. * ¥ * * Miss Vera McMillan, of Mokau, is spending an extended holiday with Miss L. Collis-Browne, Victoria Avenue, Wanganui. Lady Myers, of London, widow of the late Sir Arthur Myers, arrived at Auckland this week by the Mariposa. She will stay with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Myers, St. Heliers, for several months. Last Wednesday, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Exeter, of Napier, celebrated their platinum wedding, the sixty-fith anniversary of their wedding. Mr. Exeter is 86 years old and can still read Ihe newspapers without glasses. Mrs. Exeter is 84. and both vividly remember their voyage of 120 days from London to Napier in 1874, just after they were married. They have lived in Napier ever since their arrival, and in the same street for more than 50 years. Miss E. Coombe was a Wanganui visitor to Stratford on Saturday to attend a wedding. « » ¥ • Miss J. Slattery, well-known in Wanganui, has returned to New Zealand after spending two years abroad. She is at present staying with a niece at Manaia.
